Skills Print Journalism Articles about a variety of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) issues were researched and produced for I.A.R.F. Photographs and articles about people, businesses and government issues have been featured in Illinois Times, Springfield Business Journal, Prime Time, Central Illinois Business and Springfield Magazine, all published in central Illinois. Aviation articles and photos have been published for international readership in Aircraft Illustrated, In Flight USA, Air Show Journal and Smoke Trails. Public Relations Projects conceived, written, photographed and directed through production have included newsletters and brochures for a R/UDAT (Regional/Urban Design Assistance Team) visit, newsletters for a rehabilitation agency, a literary organization, youth athletic association, neighborhood association, a statewide private pilots' organization, and several aviation museums. In addtion, news releases have been produced for a client agency serving the Lincoln Home Historic Site restoration, and non-profit corporations. Advertising As copywriter, later assistant A.D. with O.G.R., duties included writing print and broadcast advertising, directing distribution of rotating adveertisements to clients and production liaison with graphic arts and print departments. Advertisements were sketched and writtten for I.A.R.F. Newsletter Network. Freelance activities include print advertising sales, copywriting and design of advertising for employers listed on this resume. Education Guided more than 200 Sangamon County professionals to successful completion of the MCI "Tuning In" memory enhancement course. Am currently substitute teaching to middle school and high school students in Springfield School District 186. Have also lectured to elementary and high school students about aviation history and the life of Vachel Lindsay. Launched a Website intended to serve AeroKnow, an aviation history enterprise and serve as webmaster for several area arts concerns Hobbies Have written and performed songs in the folk idiom since before Boby Dylan went electric, written and self-published three books of poetry and a biography of Vachel Lindsay.
